A day after the Rhode Island Department of Transportation announced that it will take up to three weeks to reopen westbound lanes on I-195, the agency now says that the Providence-bound lanes on the Washington Bridge will open this weekend. In a lengthy briefing on Wednesday afternoon, Governor Dan McKee and DOT Director Peter Alviti also announced that ferry service from Bristol to Providence will start within a week and will connect commuters to shuttle services to transportation hubs including Kennedy Plaza and the Providence train station.
