A weekend accident that left one person dead in East Providence remains under investigation, and authorities have not released the identities of those involved.
The crash on Bullocks Point Avenue in Riverside was reported Saturday afternoon; police say an SUV driven by a 78-year-old East Providence man went off the road and crashed into a tree.
He was declared dead at Rhode Island Hospital, while his passenger suffered minor injuries.
Investigators believe the driver suffered a medical episode which led to the crash.
