Traffic patterns are set to change on Interstate 95, past the Providence Downtown exit.
RIDOT will open a new service road that separates I-95 North through traffic from both on and off-ramp traffic.
The aim is to reduce traffic congestion, delays, and vehicle emissions as part of the Providence Viaduct Northbound project.
Part of the project involves the relocation of Exit 38 for Route 123 and State Offices.
The changes go into effect on January 6th.
