Lawmakers Back In Session- Looking For Cash To Balance Budget

Rhode Island state lawmakers return to Providence today to open a new legislative session.

The budget will be the main topic on the agenda as House and Senate members will need to make decisions with fewer federal COVID relief funds to work with.

Add that 2024 is an election year, and lawmakers likely will choose carefully.

Public transit, housing, firearms, and voter registration are among the items that are expected to gain attention in the new session.
