RI Resident Treated For Legionnaire's Disease- Search For Source Continues

Two cases of Legionnaires' Disease have been confirmed in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

A resident from the Bay State has died; their identities have not been released.

The connection is the Mountain View Grand Resort in Whitefield, New Hampshire where both individuals were recently guests.

State Department of Health officials in Concord say the two do not know one another, and their investigation is ongoing.

Legionnaires' Disease is caused by Legionella bacteria; symptoms include flu-like symptoms, along with shortness of breath and pneumonia.
