Governor Dan McKee outlined his plan to raise Rhode Islanders' standard of living in 2024.
As part of Tuesday's State of the State address, McKee says his plan would increase per-capita income by $20 thousand by the year 2030.
The governor will submit his budget bill to the General Assembly on Thursday.
"I have never been more confident that the State of our State is strong and getting stronger every single day because of the team that’s doing the work in all 39 cities and towns," the Governor said.
In the Republican response, House Minority Leader Michael Chippendale called for budget cuts and decried deficiencies in Rhode Island's healthcare, education, and energy policies, and called for a reduction in dependency on government.
