An accident involving a snowplow has left one person dead in North Providence.
The incident took place at an apartment complex on McGuire Road at around 1 pm Tuesday.
Authorities say 71-year-old Maria Vega-Rivera was struck by the plow as it backed up during snow removal operations.
Vega-Rivera was later declared dead at Rhode Island Hospital.
Police say the operator, Lloyd Card was contracted by the complex but was driving with a suspended license.
The 30-year-old Card is charged with motor vehicle violations but may face further counts.
