A man wanted for an armed robbery in Providence last summer was killed in a shootout with authorities in New Jersey.
Forty-one-year-old Shamar Leggette reportedly exchanged gunfire with US Marshals in South Brunswick on Wednesday.
Described as a career criminal, Leggette was wanted for the robbery and shooting of a man in the Federal Hill section of Providence last August.
The New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin says the investigation is continuing.
