State Lawmakers Look At Governor's Budget

Lawmakers examined a condensed version of Governor Dan McKee's budget proposal on Tuesday.

An expected surplus is expected to make negotiations easier this year. One takeaway from Tuesday's meeting is that states are moving past COVID funding.

Staffing issues remain a concern with about 17-hundred state positions open.

Education and housing problems are to be considered, along with the ongoing Washington Bridge closure and the costs that could come with it.

The Department of Health will testify before the finance committees later this month.
