Rhode Island's outdoor dining bill has been signed into law by Governor Dan McKee.
It establishes standards for communities to regulate outdoor dining.
The initiative began during the COVID pandemic to help financially struggling restaurants.
Supporters said the success of the "Take It Outside" program was apparent from the start and was time to make it permanent.
