Providence Man Sentenced For Cigar Bar Killing

A man has been sentenced to life in prison for a fatal shooting in Pawtucket.

Thirty-one-year-old Trequan Baker of Providence was convicted of second-degree murder and related charges in the death of Qudus Kafo in January 2022.

Prosecutors say Baker's family got into a fight with the 36-year-old Kafo at a cigar bar.

During the fight, Baker retrieved a pistol from his vehicle and shot Kafo, who later died at an area hospital.

Baker's sentencing detailed 60 years at the ACI, followed by a consecutive life term.
