The head of Rhode Island's Public Transit Authority is expected to step down in the coming days, after being charged in a hit-and-run accident.
RIPTA CEO Scott Avedisian is reportedly in talks with the agency's board on how he will leave.
A special hearing is scheduled for today on the matter.
Avedisian has pleaded not guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, after being accused of triggering a three-vehicle collision at a fast food restaurant drive-thru in Warwick on March 27th.
Avedisian was alleged to have been intoxicated at the time of the incident, which his attorney has disputed.
