A Providence man has pleaded guilty to a series of bank robberies in January 2021.
Vaughn Watrous entered guilty pleas to four counts of second-degree bank robbery.
Federal prosecutors say Watrous held up three banks in Providence and Cranson in three days and failed in a fourth heist in North Providence.
The 47-year-old Watrous has a criminal record dating back to 1997, and his crimes came barely a year after he was released from a four-year stint in federal prison, again for bank robbery.
