Students in the Pro-Palestine encampment at Brown University were facing a deadline of 5 p.m. Monday to clear out of the Main Green, but they have received an extension.
The students have been calling on the university to divest from companies profiting from the war between Palestine and Israel and drop the charges against 41 students arrested during a December protest.
The university has offered students a meeting with members of the Brown Corporation so they can present their argument for divestment, if the encampment peacefully ends and there are no more unauthorized demonstrations.
The students were given another 24-hours to put together a proposal because there was no agreement on the university's offer.
