FEMA Closes Disaster Recovery Centers in Rhode Island

Following the severe storms and flooding that took place in December and January, three Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) have been open to assist Rhode Island residents in applying for FEMA assistance and uploading required documents

On May 14, FEMA announced that the DRCs in Cumberland, Lincoln and Coventry are scheduled to close this week.

The DRC at Cumberland Public Library closed permanently on Wednesday, May 15 at 6:30 pm.

The DRCs at Coventry Town Hall Annex and the Community College of Rhode Island Lincoln Campus will be open through Saturday, May 18 until 4:30 pm.

  • Call 1-800-621-3362. Phone lines operate from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. seven days a week. Help is available in most languages. If you use video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, give FEMA your number for that service.
  • Online at DisasterAssistance.gov
  • Or download the FEMA Mobile App, available at Google Play or the Apple App Store

The deadline to apply to FEMA is May 20, 2024.
