YMCA Employee Fired After Allowing Registered Sex Offender Into Facility

An employee of the YMCA of Greater Providence has been fired after allowing a registered sex offender on the premises.

The employee, who worked for the aquatics program at the Cranston branch, let her fiancée into the building without scanning him.

Joseph Hache of Woonsocket was convicted of indecent solicitation of a child in 2022.

Officials say he sat near the entrance of the building during a swim meet and there's no indication that he had any interaction with children.

The Y employee was let go earlier this month and a restraining order has been taken out against Hache.
