CA Woman Sentenced For Trafficking Meth In RI

A California woman has been sentenced for trafficking methamphetamine in Rhode Island.

The United State Attorney's Office says 52-year-old Nora Cecilia Carranza Reyes will spend nearly four years in federal prison for her role in delivering four pounds of crystal meth in 2022.

Carranza Reyes was under surveillance when she delivered the drugs at the direction of an inmate in Maine who traveled to Rhode Island to retrieve the drugs which were later seized during a traffic stop.

Carranza Reyes was arrested a couple of days later and a search of her vehicle led to more meth stashed in a duffel bag in the engine compartment.
