The heatwave shows no signs of letting up in Rhode Island.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory yesterday for areas north and west of Providence and today it expands to include Bristol, Eastern Kent, Southeast Providence and Western Kent counties.
The advisory will be in effect from noon today until 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Health officials say the hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses, so drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room if possible, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
