Health Department, AG Approve Hospital Sales With Conditions

The sale of Our Lady of Fatima Hospital and the Roger Williams Medical Center have been approved by the Rhode Island Department of Health and Attorney General Peter Neronha -- with conditions.

Those conditions include measures to ensure the financial viability of the hospitals, stable operational structures, and a continued commitment to health equity and the needs of all patients.

The nonprofit Centurion Foundation plans to buy both hospitals from Prospect Medical Holdings.

The sale is not a done deal, however because the Health Department is still reviewing a Change in Effective Control application for the two hospitals.
