NWS Says Lincoln, Cumberland Experienced Small Tornados

The light of day has revealed the damage across Southern New England from strong storms that blew through overnight.

Wind took down trees that took down power lines, blocked roads and crashed onto houses.

Lincoln recorded winds at 90 miles an hour.

The National Weather Service says the damage in Lincoln, and Cumberland were caused by EF-1 tornados.

There were downed trees and powerlines but there were no reported injuries..

As of 11 a.m. over 86-hundred Rhode Island Energy customers were waiting for power to be restored.

As of 6pm last night there were 2 thousand customers without power.

There remain some sporadic outages this morning.
