Omni Hotel Employees Plan To Hold Strike Vote In August

Employees of the Omni Hotel in Providence are planning to hold a strike vote on August 7.

Members of UNITE HERE Local 26 say bargaining sessions with hotel owners have proposed insufficient wage increases and inadequate job protections and they remain too far apart on the issues that matter to workers and their families.

The employees say they want wages that cover the cost of living and work that is safe and sustainable.
