The Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration has announced a grant that will allow Rhode Island to expand the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
The three-point-eight-million-dollars will be used to fund landscaping, irrigation and 21-hundred cremation niches.
According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the cemetery serves more than 56-thousand veterans and their eligible family members.
21 hundred new plots will be created under the grant.
