The president of the Hospital Association of Rhode Island is retiring at the end of the summer.
Teresa Paiva Weed has held the job for the past 7 years and says it's been an honor to advocate on behalf the state's 15 hospitals.
“It has been an honor to serve as President of the Hospital Association of Rhode Island and to advocate on behalf of the hospitals in Rhode Island to ensure they can continue to provide the highest quality health care for all Rhode Islanders. I am grateful to the members and the staff for their support,” stated Teresa Paiva Weed. “After seven years at the association, following a 24-year career in public service, I look forward to pursuing interests that allow me the flexibility to spend more time with the people I love.”
Prior to joining the association. Paiva Weed served 24 years in the General Assembly representing District 13, Newport and Jamestown, including four terms as senate president.
