Bally's: Washington Bridge Hurting Casino Revenue

George Papanier the president of Bally's say the failure of the westbound side of the Washington Bridge has impacted revenue at its casinos in Rhode Island.

He told investors the disruption on I-195 contributed to a 60-million-dollar revenue loss in the second quarter.

Officials say, "In Rhode Island, local bridge construction on Interstate 195 has led to lane closures which disrupt traffic during peak periods, impacting visitation to our Lincoln property. In addition, we experienced an increase in promotional activity from certain Massachusetts properties which we are managing through. Finally, though we continue to invest in our Atlantic City property, turnover in our relationship marketing team impacted second quarter results for this market. "

State officials say the revenue drop for the state budget at Bally's properties in Lincoln and Tiverton costs the state millions-of-dollars.

It gets 61-percent of all slot machine revenue and 18-percent of table game revenues.
