A former Rhode Island resident is facing charges for threatening a mass casualty event.
Andrew Buchanan has been the subject of an FBI investigation which included a complaint made in December in which he reportedly planned to cause a mass casualty event at the Army-Navy Game at Gillette Stadium.
Investigators determined Buchanan made the threatening call to a family member and discovered years of threats made by the suspect.
Buchanan served in the Rhode Island National Guard from 2008-to-2013 and was honorably discharged.
The suspect was arrested in Arizona and is expected to be extradited back to Rhode Island.
