Former Rhode Island attorney James McAleer has been arrested for the alleged misappropriation of funds from three estates.
The now-disbarred attorney allegedly is accused of writing checks from the estates and addressed them to himself or his law firm's account and used the money for business and personal expenses.
McAleer has been released on five-thousand-dollars personal recognizance.
A court date has been scheduled for November 13.
