ACLU Of Rhode Island Opposed Cranston Encampment Order

The ACLU of Rhode Island is speaking out against an executive order that calls on police to remove homeless encampments in Cranston.

Mayor Ken Hopkins issued the order Wednesday, saying it is about public safety, however the ACLU says it is cruel, misguided, and ineffective.

In addition, the ACLU says the immediate removal of a person's property if they refuse to cooperate, raises concerns under the State's Homeless Bill of Rights.
