South Kingstown Police Arrest Three In Separate DUI Cases

Three men have been arrested in South Kingstown after three separate DUI incidents this week.

“Impaired driving is a dangerous problem and having three arrests on a Wednesday – including one before noon – is very alarming,” said Matthew C. Moynihan, Chief of Police for South Kingstown. “Our message remains the same: if you’ve been drinking or using cannabis, don’t drive. And, if you see an impaired driver, call 911.”

Police say all the arrests happened within a 12-hour period on Ministerial Road, Grand Isle Drive and Kingstown Road.

The three men arrested, 55-year-old Travis Pease of Carolina, Rhode Island; 36-year-old Thomas Ashley of Wakefield; and 58-year-old Michael Comire of South Kingstown were arrested after failing or failing to consent to chemical field testing.

Police say Ashley allegedly drove into a building as police were arriving.

Pease was arraigned and freed on personal recognizance.

The other two arraignments are scheduled for the next ten days.
