AG Report: Deadly Force Was Reasonable

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha says eleven police officers were justified in using deadly force in the May 2023 shooting of a murder suspect.

James Harrison was shot and killed following a police pursuit and standoff that involved officers from Cranston, Johnston and Providence.

Harrison was accused of killing his mother and a neighbor and injuring the neighbor's daughter before fleeing from police.

After crashing his vehicle, Harrison pointed a gun at officers who shot and killed him.
