Terminally Ill Man Found Dead In Home After Standoff With Cranston Police

A standoff ends with the death of a terminally ill man in Cranston.

The Cranston Police Chief Colonel Michael Winquist says police were called to a Harding Avenue address for a man who barricaded himself inside of his home - along with his non cooperating wife.

69 year old Neil Douglas kept police at bay for hours, shooting at police twice- then at his wife.

He missed all three shots.

The wife was able to escape.

Early this morning- police were able to enter the home- where they found the body of Douglas- the victim of a fatal gunshot wound.

We are expecting more details later today.
