Governor Dan McKee is addressing the demolition stoppage on the westbound side of the Washington Bridge.
The governor says the Rhode Island Department of Transportation started the demolition and brought it to a point where the state's legal team stepped in to request that it be stopped to preserve evidence of its failure.
McKee says some work on the ramps can continue because it doesn't interfere with evidence collection.
The Governor did not narrow down when the rest of the westbound side of the bridge demolition would resume.
