Diocese Of Providence Holds Farewell Mass For Archbishop Henning

The Diocese of Providence held a farewell mass for Archbishop Richard Henning who will become the next archbishop in Boston on October 31.

Henning will be replacing 80-year-old Cardinal Sean O'Malley who is retiring.

Pope Francis has not appointed a new bishop to lead the Providence diocese yet, so a group of local priests will convene to elect one of their own as temporary Diocesan Administrator.

Henning says it's been an extraordinary couple of years in Rhode Island and he felt a very strong bond with the community.
