The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning that includes all of Rhode Island from 8:00 a.m. until six-o'clock this evening.
Forecasters say the low humidity, dry conditions and 30-mile-per-hour winds gusts create conditions that will quickly spread fires.
One of those brush fires gave officials in Cumberland a rough time yesterday afternoon.
Five-acres in Cumberland were consumed by the flames on Thursday.
According to the Fire Department, companies were conducting simulated vehicle fire training at a parking garage in Highland Corporate Park, when they were called to the brush fire on Nate Whipple Highway.
Fire units, off duty personnel, and mutual aid departments responded to the scene and battled the fire for around six hours.
There were no injuries or threats to structures.
