A 31-year-old man has been arrested after crashing a moped while holding an 18-month-old child.
Newport Police say 31-year-old Charles Fenwick was allegedly under the influence when he ran into a parked car near Spring and Dixon streets Sunday night.
Fenwick injured his leg, and the child was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Fenwick is charged with DUI resulting in serious bodily injury, child endangerment, reckless driving and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
