Brush Fire Burns Around Two-Acres On East Side Of Providence

Fire Chief Derek Silva says more than 40 firefighters responded to the scene of a brush fire on the East Side of Providence on Tuesday.

The fire burned at least two-acres in a wooded area around Lippitt Park and Swan Point Cemetery.

Chief Silva says the bulk of the fire was extinguished Tuesday evening, but crews are watching for hotspots.

Meanwhile in Coventry, firefighters responded to a brush fire near Lydia Road.

No injuries were reported.
