RI Launches Community Approach Phase Of Electric Vehicle Program

Rhode Island is the first state in the nation to begin Phase 2 of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program.

The community-based approach offers an initial ten-million-dollars in competitive funding for electric vehicle charging infrastructure and it's open to public, non-profit, and private entities.

The program aims to install a minimum of ten, DC Fast Chargers and 100 Level 2 chargers across Rhode Island.

The Level 2 chargers are ideal for locations where vehicles are parked for a few hours, like shopping centers since they provide a full charge in four to six hours.
