A DUI suspect who crashed into a bicyclist in Smithfield is facing upgraded charges now that the victim has died.
Thirty-eight-year-old Lance Nicoletti allegedly struck 65-year-old Robert Metheny on Pleasant View Avenue in September and was initially charged with DUI resulting in bodily injury and driving to endanger resulting in bodily injury.
He is now charged with felony DUI of liquor or drugs resulting in death, and felony driving to endanger.
Nicoletti's next court date is scheduled for January 22nd.
