Rhode Island Department of Health Warning Of Holiday Illness

The Rhode Island Department of Health people celebrating over the holidays should take steps in preventing the spread of common respiratory viruses.

Director of Health Jerry Larkin says if you plan to see people for New Year's or attend other gatherings and begin to feel sick, stay home and avoid putting others at risk.

Anyone that experiences flu-like symptoms such as a stuffy nose, sore throat or fever should stay home for at least 24 hours after symptoms begin going away.
