Providence Oil Tank Fire

An investigation is underway after a fire broke out in a corn oil storage tank in the Port of Providence.

Providence Fire Chief Derek Silva said the tank had around three-thousand gallons on board.

The fire was contained to the tank, and crews were able to extinguish the blaze shortly before 5 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

The exact cause of the fire has not been determined.
