Governor Dan McKee has penned a letter to the Department of Transportation urging the release of 470 million dollars in federal funding for the Washington Bridge project.
The Governor says the letter was a followup to his trip to Washington earlier this year where he made the case for the funding to be released as soon as possible.
The Governor, in his letter says that although they are confident that the funds will be released by The Department of Transportation, he is looking for the signature process to be expedited so the demolition and rebuild can go on without impact.
So far there has been no response for the Department of Transportation.
