An investigation is underway after a Johnston Police officer shot at a man who drove at him on Saturday night.
Police say the officer responded to a disturbance at a Hartford Road gas station and as the officer approached the suspect accelerated and struck him.
The officer fired several rounds at the driver, and both were taken to hospitals for treatment.
The officer sustained minor injuries, and the 28-year-old suspect is expected to survive.
The Johnston Police Department, Rhode Island State Police and the Attorney General are investigating the incident.
