Blood Supply Emergency Declared In RI

There is a declared blood supply emergency in Rhode Island.

The blood supply has dropped below a two-day inventory.

The Rhode Island Blood Center said today a seven-day supply is typically needed to meet hospital demands.

All types of blood are needed, especially types O-positive and O-negative.

The public is urged to make an appointment to donate a pint of blood.
