RI Man Accused Of Faking His Death Sentenced For 2008 Rape In Utah

Nicholas Rossi- the former Rhode Island man is sentenced to five years to life in prison for a 2008 rape in Salt Lake County.

Rossi, also known as Nicholas Alahverdian, was extradited from Scotland and accused of faking his death to avoid previous rape charges.

He claimed prosecutors had the wrong man, saying he was actually Arthur Knight.

The two-day trial focused on the rape of a 24-year-old woman in December 2008.

Rossi will serve his sentence at the Utah State Correctional Facility. He was also convicted of rape in Utah County, with sentencing set for November 4th.
