Cape And Islands Food Pantries Prepare For SNAP Cutoff

Many people on Cape Cod and the Islands are at risk of losing their supplemental nutrition assistance benefits tomorrow.

The Family Pantry of Cape Cod in Harwich and the Friends Food Pantry in Bourne are preparing for an increase in clients, and expect to be able to handle the increased load.

Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket have some of the highest food costs in the country.

Island Food Pantry on Martha's Vineyard already provides assistance to one in five year round residents, and they are also expecting to see new faces if SNAP is cut off.
