An investigation is underway after a wind turbine in Massachusetts lost a blade.
Plymouth Fire Chief Neil Foley says a blade from the 300-foot-tall structure in the area of Head of the Bay Road fell and landed in a cranberry bog on Friday.
There were no injuries, and no homes or occupied buildings were affected.
The maintenance company responsible for the turbine is conducting inspections to determine the cause of the failure.
State Representative Steve Xiarhos says public safety and environmental protection must come first and he's working with Representative Michelle Badger to make sure residents get answers and the site is cleaned promptly and safely.
