The Trump administration is threatening states with financial penalties if they do not immediately "undo any steps" that were taken to provide full November SNAP benefits to recipients.
On Friday, Rhode Island began issuing full benefits after a federal judge ordered the resumption of payments.
But Friday night, a Supreme Court judge paused that judicial order. Governor Dan McKee said recipients EBT cards will remain active.
He said he is quote, "disgusted by the chaos and hardship that President Trump and his administration continue to create."
