Georgetown Basketball Coach Suspended After Throwing Water Bottle

The coach of Georgetown's men's basketball team has been suspended for one game for throwing a water bottle.

Ed Cooley threw an object into the stands on Saturday following Georgetown's 80-77 loss to Xavier at the Capital One Arena.

The object reportedly hit a mom and her child.

Cooley confirmed to reporters that he threw his water bottle, and he issued an apology to the family that was hit.

Georgetown's athletic director announced yesterday that Cooley will be suspended for the Hoyas' next game, which is tonight against Coppin State.
