Police in Pawtucket say someone stole a car with two children in the vehicle Tuesday evening.
A driver left her SUV running when she went to a bank on Smithfield Avenue and that's when the suspect got out of another car and drove off without knowing there were kids in the car.
The suspect noticed the kids and returned to the scene to drop them off before speeding away.
The children were not hurt. Police say the car the suspect exited before taking the SUV had been stolen in North Providence.
