Providence residents and businesses still complain about snow removal more than a week after a storm dumped 16 inches in the city.
Mayoral candidate David Morales claims problems persist due to poor planning, coordination and a lack of leadership from Mayor Brett Smiley.
In response, the website rhodeislandcurrent.com reported a spokesperson for the mayor said a coordinated multi-department approach was implemented to deal with one of the most severe storms in recent years.
Meantime, the Department of Public Works Directo Patricia Coyne appeared before city councilors last night. She told them that they need to get better- but that the large amounts of snow, combined with the timing and cold temps hampered the effort.
Coyne says that they will you snow removal vendors to truck the snow out of the city of Providence but did not provide a specific timetable.
