RI House, Senate Expected To Vote On Hospital Funding Today

The Rhode Island House and Senate are expected to vote today on the 18-million-dollar backstop the Centurion Foundation needs to purchase Roger Williams Medical Center and Fatima Hospital.

Centurion says it has verbal commitments from investors, but it needs the reserve bond from the state to close the deal.

The federal judge overseeing Chapter 11 proceedings for current owner Prospect Medical Holdings has set a February 27th deadline for it to sell the hospitals.
